Eligibility:
This event is open to all Wisconsin chess players, former champions and students in WI schools. All entrants must be members of the US Chess Federation. US Chess membership may be purchased at the site. Wisconsin Chess Association membership is included in the entry. Our website address is www.wichess.org.

Playing Schedules:

Premier & Reserve |
The (1) Premier (open to all) and (2) Reserve (under 1800) sections are five-round Swiss system events.
3-day section: Time control all rounds 40/90, then SD/30 with 30 second increment. Rounds are Friday 6 PM, Sat. 10 & 6, and Sun. 10 & 3:30.
2-day section: Rounds 1 & 2 (Sat. 10 & 2): G/90 with 5 second increment. Then merging with the 3-day schedule for rounds 3–5 (Sat. 6, Sun 10 & 3:30)

Novice |
The (3) Novice section is a 1-day, four-round Swiss system event open to players rated under 1200 or unrated.
Time control is G/60 with 5 second increment.
Rounds are Saturday at 10, 1, 3:30, and 6.

Registration:
Players may register by mail (form below) or at https://www.kingregistration.com/event/WIStateChampionship22. Registration will be accepted at the site Friday, Dec. 16th 4:30-5:30 PM; and Saturday, Dec. 17th 8:30-9:30 AM. Please bring your USCF ID card or be prepared to purchase or renew your membership during late registration. Please bring your chess clock. One ½-point bye is available for any round except the last if requested in advance.

Special Notes:
The $50 Scott Kittsley Memorial Upset Prize will be awarded to the person scoring the greatest upset in the tournament. The event is no smoking; no computers allowed and is wheelchair accessible. Face coverings are optional.
