Hotel is located north of the main boardwalk in a quiet residential area, with fast food options a short drive away. Hotel restaurant serves breakfast ($15 buffet), lunch, and dinner at reasonable rates with an ocean view! ALL rooms have mini fridge and microwave. Hotel will provide concessions / grab-and-go line for the tournament participants, with sandwiches at $6, and drinks, chips, pretzels, etc even less!
Format: 4 Double Rounds G/5;d0, Swiss System. All games are US Chess-rated. No bye requests.
Sections: Single Open section
Ratings for Sectioning and Prizes: We will use your Over-the-Board Blitz rating from the January 2025 US Chess Rating Supplement.
Entry Fees: $35 through Sat 1/25; $40 beginning Sun 1/26; $45 beginning 1/30 and onsite
Refunds: If you need to withdraw, please contact the Event Organizer below. Local scholastic players will receive a credit for a future tournament. All other players may request a refund instead of a credit. A $10 refund fee applies to all refunds if you withdraw prior to the start of Round 1. There are NO refunds after tournament begins. Please check the ENTRY LIST before registering to make sure you do not register multiple times. You may also opt to DONATE your entry fee as a tax-deductible gift to HRCA.
Prizes: Cash prizes based on entries.
Registration: Online at https://www.kingregistration.com/event/CVOBlitz25; or onsite before 6:30 PM Fri 1/31. Onsite entries must also be done through the King Registration system. Ask about exceptions.
