All players will receive a participation medal.
The winner of the High School section will represent Nevada at the Denker Tournament of High School Champions July 29 – August 1 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Winner of the Middle School section will represent Nevada in the Barber Tournament of Middle School Champions. The Winner of the Elementary School section will represent Nevada in the Rockefeller Tournament of Elementary School Champions. If two or more players have a perfect score there will be a playoff to determine the representative.
The top scoring boy and top scoring girl in each section receive free entry to the International Youth Championship in Las Vegas June 17 – 18. Restricted to players who will be 14 or under on June 18, 2023.
The second-place finisher in the High School, Middle School, and Elementary sections, as well as the winner of the Primary section will receive an entry to a future one-day tournament of their choice at Bridgeopolis in Las Vegas. The high school second place finisher may choose the Tuesday night series instead of a one-day tournament. Visit www.bridgeopolis.club/chess for more information about tournaments at Bridgeopolis.
Entry Fee: $40 if received by February 24th. Late Registration $50 by 7 p.m. March 3rd, $70 later.
US Chess Membership required: you may join or renew at www.uschess.org or on site.
Schedule: Round 1 starts at 9:30 a.m. and subsequent rounds start about 15 minutes after the previous round ends. Lunch is included and will be served between 11:30 and 1:00. Players registering after 8:30 a.m. may not be paired for round 1.

The NEVADA STATE GIRLS’ SCHOLASTIC CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP will be held at Bridgeopolis in mid-April. The winner will represent Nevada at the National Girls Tournament of Champions in Michigan and may be nominated for other Girls’ invitational events.
If two or more players in the same section achieve a perfect score, the championship will be determined by a playoff. Such a playoff may be played either in person or online. If two or more players tie for first place in a section with any score other than a perfect score, the placement of all tied players will be determined by tie-breaks as described in the Official Rules of Chess, 7th edition.
