$140 online until July 10th midnight CT;.
$160 online after July 10th or onsite.

Round Times: Fri 1:00pm & 6:00pm; Sat 9:00am & 2:30pm; Sun 8:30am & 2:00pm.

Tournament Check-in:

11a.m.-12:30 p.m. 7/22. This is to ensure entrants are here for round 1 pairing. Not checked-in = not paired for round 1.

Plaque to top in each age group: 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+. Players may win both cash & age awards.

Invitation to the 2023 US Senior invitational for first place.

All cash prizes are paid electronically within ten business days following the tournament. The predominant method of payment is PayPal, but ACH transfers, e-checks, Zelle, and other methods may be used. PayPal Personal Accounts are free and allow transfers to your bank. Airport Transportation

We are working on transport Thursday night and Friday morning from the airport, and back to the airport on Sunday.

Equipment:

Caveman Chess provides sets, boards; please bring clocks. Please know how to set your clock for increment and how to add time to the clock in case of a time penalty. Print out instructions and carry them with you. See Setting http://pdxchess.org/wp-content/uploads/Setting-the-popular-digital-clocks-for-G90inc30.pdf .  Also, check YouTube for videos of your clock and know how to add penalty time. 

 

New US Chess Members:

If you don't yet have US Chess membership, put eight zeros, "00000000" in the form for US Chess ID number when registering.

Cook County rules are in force, and towns might add their own rules. Currently, masks are optional. We suggest being fully vaccinated and bringing along an N95 or KN95. Thu eve, GM Simul, GM Lecture, Saturday Blitz after R4. Blitz registration will be posted online separately. Details coming. On-campus meals available (no taxes/tips). Due to unpredictable event sizes, Caveman Chess reserves the right to reconfigure any tournament at the last minute. We will do our best to email you in advance and offer an opportunity to withdraw. We will also do our best to reconfigure in a way that keeps the basic spirit of the tournament and makes sense given the number of participants and that meets US Chess rules for minimum prizes. Adjustments to this event design are unlikely.
