Format: 4-SS (no eliminations).
Time Control: G/45; 15 second increment from move 1.
Registration: 8:30 - 9:15.
Rounds: 9:30 - 12:30 - 2:45 - 5:00.
One 1/2-point bye may be requested at any time up to the start of round two.

All players aged 14 and below have the option of registering as amateurs if they wish to do so.
All players without ratings have the option of registering as amateurs if they wish to do so.
Amateurs will not be eligible for cash prizes, but all games will be rated and there will be a trophy presented to the top-scoring amateur.
EARLY BIRD PRO SPECIAL: $30 by 12:00A on 10/05
Pro Entry Fee: $35 by 12:00a on 10/25 or $40 at the door.
Amateur Entry Fee: $10 by 12:00a on 10/25 or $15 at the door.
$500 Prize Fund (b/25 Pro entries, 50% guaranteed):
Overall: $200 - 100.
U1600: $100 - 50
U1400: $50
All games will be rated by the United States Chess Federation. (Regular and Rapid)
All players must be members of the United States Chess Federation.
Membership in the Kansas Chess Association is not required, but is recommended.
Memberships in both of the above organizations may be purchased at the tournament.

THINGS TO KNOW:
Food:
Paola is a happening place! This is a thing I totally did not know before I went to look at the site! No problem finding food of all kinds nearby.
We also have a refrigerator to keep food and drinks in, a microwave to cook it, and a nice park right out back to enjoy it in.
Free Parking:
Approximately 40 spaces in front of the building (Please Park Diagonally), which should be plenty.
If we need more than that, there is ample free on-street parking.
In addition, I have confirmed with the city that we are an event, so you can also legally park where the signs say "No Parking Except for Events"
Please don't block driveways.

Director will be available to play against the player who receives a bye during any round where there is an odd number of players.
Director will not paired normally, and will not be eligible for any cash prizes.
