Team Rating: Average of Top 4 Boards in the November 2023 Supplement
Team Board Order: Highest rated on board 1, next highest on board 2, next on 3, and Lowest on 4.
Pairings and scoring: Teams will be paired against each other, with each team's Board 1 playing each other, Board 2 playing each other, and so on. Players score 1 point for a win, 0.5 points for a draw, and 0 points for a loss. A team's total score is added up for the team's match score (with a total of 4.0 points at stake). The team that scores 2.5 or more receive a full match point (1.0), and the team that scores 1.5 or less receives no match points (0.0). If both teams score 2.0, the match is a draw and each team receives half a match point (0.5). Teams are paired each round and ranked by their match points. Match scores contribute to the calculating of tiebreaks.
Board Order: Team must play in rating order each round, (including any playing alternate).
Missing Boards: Teams must fill all boards from top to bottom. Any empty boards must appear after the lowest rated player.
Team Captains are responsible for reporting results.
Team Captains are responsible for just about everything involving the team.
Late Players: Teams cannot leave a board empty (skipping a board in team order) waiting for a late player. If teams decide to wait for a late player (e.g. on Board 1), they are not permitted to make a move until they arrive.
Additional USCF team tournament rules can be found here.
Boards and pieces will be provided, please bring clocks.
