The HCC Fall Tournament
On October 19th Casa de Ajedrez, L3C will be hosting a free unrated community wide chess tournament at the Henning Cultural Center in Sulphur. (923 Ruth St. Sulphur, LA 70663)
Prizes and medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of each division.
Tournament details:
Sign in starts at 9am to 9:45am
Tournament starts at 10am (Times are averages and may change a bit)
A 1/2 Point BYE is available (That means you can choose a round to arrive late or leave a round early and still get a half point credit)
Round 1 - 10am
Round 2 - 11:15am
Round 3 - 12:30pm
Round 4 - 1:45pm
Type of tournament- Swiss
Time controls- 30 minutes with 2 second increments. (30/2i)
4 rounds
4 Divisions (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Expert)
*Beginner Division is only for children who are new to the game of chess but they know the basics.
This tournament goes by which level you feel you can get a good challenge from.
Seats are limited
1 half point bye is available per player if requested.
