In addition to its Tuesday meetings at Turners Club in Aurora, the Fox Valley Chess Club offers free chess play at Golconda in Naperville, near Patel Brothers, 6:30pm to 8:30pm Thursdays.

Due to limited space, we ask that all players pre-register here.  There is no cost for FREE UNRATED GAME PLAY although Golconda has a wonderful food special on Thursdays, unlimited street foods for $15 for adults and $10 for children. (Please tip generously!)

Children below high school age are NOT allowed to be dropped off, parents must remain on site.  All equipment is provided.

Rated games are likely to start up soon -- and rated tournaments as well -- so check King Registration for those events.

Notes:

Note 1:  Personally I'm a big fan of notation. However, at club, unless BOTH players agree to take notation, it is not considerate for one player to notate without the other.  Please be courteous in that regard.

Note 2: Folks who do not show up for their reserved spot without communication will be asked to sit out a week, with escalating consequences for future no-shows.

Note 3: This is not a chess lesson -- it is an opportunity for folks who already know how to play chess (to some degree) to get paired in casual games for a few hours. If needed, the club can refer individuals to a number of excellent instructors.

Note 4: Please report your result promptly to Coach Bill in order to get paired with another player.  Instant rematches are discouraged.
