2021 Bayside Chess Open

Welcome to the Bayside Chess Open - Sponsored by Bayside Academy in Daphne, AL. This event will be held on Saturday, May 1 at 10:00 AM CST. All proceeds from the event will go to fund the Bayside Academy Chess Team. 

 We are excited to present you with 3 online quick rated sections: Open, Scholastic U1000 and Scholastic Unrated

There will be 4 rounds of play at the time control of g 25. The platform we are using is www.chess.com and you will need a username and password to play. 

To prepare for the tournament, please make sure after registration, you join the chess.com group that will be provided

 

The tournament will begin at 10:00 AM CST. Subsequent rounds will begin after the last game in each section finishes.

 Section eligibility is not necessarily based on rating shown - it is based on USCF ratings. 

 

Prizes:

Open: $100 for 1st, $75 for 2nd, and $50 for 3rd.  This is based on 10 entries in the open section

Scholastic Rated U1000, Chess.com Premium membership for places 1-3, top U600

Unrated:  Medals for 1st-3rd.
