The Chess Enterprise presents the Central Ohio G/75 Classic, a one day 3 round chess tournament. Each player has 75 minutes with a 5 second delay to complete each game. The tournament has 3 sections, Premier (1600+), Reserve (U1600) and Discovery (U1200). The playing site is located in Grove City, Ohio less than 10 minutes southwest from downtown Columbus and is close to many restaurants. Boards and sets provided, please bring clocks. Please know how to set your clock and how to adjust time on the clock. Open to all players.

 

Date: ONE DAY | Saturday, September 14, 2024
Location: Columbus-Grove City Elks, 2140 Sonora Dr., Grove City, OH 43123.
Format: 3 round Swiss. G/75 d5. US Chess rated. US Chess membership required.
Rounds: 10 am, 1pm & 4pm.
Sections: Premier (1600+), Reserve (U1600) and Discovery (U1200).

Prizes: $1000 based on 50 paid entries.

  • Premier (1600+) $200-130- $70.
  • Reserve (U1600) $150-100-$50.
  • Discovery (U1200) $150-100-$50.


Entry:

  • $40 Early by September 9. $45 Regular after. $50 At the door.
  • FREE entry 2200+, must register by September 9. $40 deducted from prize.


Registration:

  • Onsite registration 9am to 9:30am.
  • Online registration closes at midnight the day before the tournament.
  • Current US Chess "live ratings" used for all players - not the monthly supplement rating.
  • TD has discretion to use US Chess online rating for pairing purposes to preserve fairness.
  • Accelerated pairings at TD discretion. Sections may be combined at TD discretion.
  • Refund minus a $5 admin fee until the end of registration.

Other Information:

  • One ½-point bye OK for any round, must be requested before round 1 parings are posted.
  • Assistance from other players or spectators is prohibited and will result in disqualification. Spectators may be asked to leave the playing area.
  • TD may have a lower rated player join the Premier section to maintain an even number of players in the section.
  • Junior players must be accompanied by an adult throughout the event.
  • Handicap Accessible.
