The General Patton Museum is located in Fort Knox, KY, just off of Highway 31W. Visitors may enter the parking lot off of the gate just north of the Museum. Visitors should avoid the military base at Fort Knox. Do not obtain a visitor pass at the Chaffee Gate. Type in the General George Patton Museum into Google Maps for the best experience. 

Format:

US Chess Membership is Required. 

Two Sections (Open and Scholastic) - USCF Rated with class prizes.

This is an open tournament. Anyone may play in the open section but expect to play players with a wide variety of ratings. 

Scholastic players must specify their section.

Accelerated Pairings will be used at the discretion of the Chief Tournament Director.

Entry Fees: 

Entry Fee - $50 in advance if paid by 5/11/2025; $60 by noon on 6/6/2025. $75 on site and after noon on 6/6/2025.

$40 for scholastic and/or unrated players and players with a USCF Rating of less than 1,200 based on the May Rating Supplement if entries are paid by noon on 6/6/2025. $50 on site and after noon for scholastic and unrated players on 6/7/2025.

KCA membership included for Kentucky residents.

KY Open Champion: $1,200; 2nd place = $500

Class A (1999 - 1800): 1st = $300, 2nd = $100

Class B (1799 - 1600): 1st = $300, 2nd = $100

Class C (1599 - 1400): 1st = $300, 2nd = $100

Class D (1399 - 1200): 1st = $300, 2nd = $100

Class E (1199 - 1000): 1st = $300, 2nd = $100

Class F and Below: (999 and below): 1st = $300, 2nd = $100, 3rd = $80; 4th = $70; 5th = $50

Scholastic Prizes: 1st = $240, 2nd = $100, 3rd = $60

Top Unrated = $100

Top Female Player $100

Best Upset = $100

Onsite Registration and Check-In: 8:30 am - 9:10 am

Start Time: 10:00 AM on June 7th; Round Three Might Last Until 5:00 PM. 

Anticipated End Time: 5:00 PM on June 8th.

Players must check in before 9:10 am or otherwise contact the Chief Tournament Director to ensure they are paired for Round 1.

Players arriving after registration will receive one half-point bye and will be paired in subsequent rounds. Half-point byes may be requested for any round during registration only (2 max). Must commit to byes by round 3.

Other:

Annual meeting of the Kentucky Chess Association (KCA) Board between rounds 5 and 6, at 1pm
