Format: 5-round Swiss System Time Control: G/90 + 30 sec increment

Three Sections: Premier (USCF 2000+), U2000 (USCF 1400-1999), U1400 (USCF Unrated-1399)
                            Players rated USCF 1900-1999 may play up in the Premier section for an additional $25.
                            Players rated USCF 1300-1399 may play up into the U2000 section for an additional $15.

Important:

  • USCF regular ratings apply for all sections. Top two sections are also FIDE rated.
  • USCF membership required (may be purchased or renewed at registration or on site)
  • July 2023 US Chess ratings will be used for section eligibility, pairings, and prize eligibility.
    Other ratings may be used if higher. The decision of the Chief Tournament Director regarding
    eligibility, rating adjustments, conversions, unofficial ratings, or other rating issues is final.
  • A maximum of two half-point byes are available. Half-point byes must be requested no later
    than 30 minutes before the round starts. Round 4 and Round 5 half-point byes must be requested
    before the start of Round 3 and may not be canceled after Round 3 starts.
  • Boards, sets, AND clocks will be provided for tournament play.
  • Special Side Event: 2023 July FIDE Blitz, Saturday, Jul 8 @7:30PM

 

Prizes: Total Prize Fund $3300 based on 100 paid entries.
    Open Section (USCF & FIDE Rated): $900/$450/$225, Top U2200: $100
    U2000 Section (USCF & FIDE Rated): $600/$300/$150, Top U1600: $75
    U1400 Section (USCF Rated): $240/$120/$80, Top U1000: $60

Entry Fees: Free entry for GM, WGM, IM, WIM, FM, & WFM ($90 deducted from prizes).
                     Open Section: $90 through Jun 23, $100 through Jul 6, $125 on site.
                     U2000 Section: $75 through Jun 23, $85 through Jul 6, $110 on site.
                     U1400 Section: $60 through Jun 23, $70 through Jul 6, $95 on site.

Online registration ends at midnight MST, Jul 6.
Onsite registration: 4:00pm - 6:00pm on Jul 7
    -Players registering after this time may be given a half-point bye for Round 1.

Schedule: Players' Meeting: Friday 6:45pm
                  Rounds: Friday 7pm, Saturday 10am & 3pm, Sunday 10am & 3pm

Group rate: $105/night + tax for single or double occupancy. $15/night for each additional adult. Free parking and internet.
