Please register early. Limited to the total of 160 participants. EF goes up by $20 at noon on Friday, October 14th. Online registration closes at 8:00am on Saturday, October 15th.
PLAYING SITE: Embassy Suites by Hilton Milwaukee Brookfield (1200 South Moorland Road, Brookfield, WI 53005; 262-782-2900)
FORMAT: 5-round Swiss event in three sections: Open, U1600, Non-Rated Scholastic. Time Control is g/15+10inc (15 minutes per game per player, with a 10 second increment for every move). Notation is not required. Boards and sets are provided. Please bring a digital clock if you own one.
SCHOLASTIC SECTION: This event is very beginner-friendly. It is not required to be a US Chess member. Experienced scholastic tournament players are strongly encouraged to enter rated sections. Published ratings (regular, quick, online regular, online quick) will be used if available, but only for the purposes of pairings. No ratings will be affected.
ROUND TIMES: 10:00am, 11:15am, 1:00pm, 2:15pm, 3:30pm
PRIZES: SCHOLASTIC SECTION
Trophies to top 5 places overall and top finisher in each grade. No tie-breaks for grade prizes: all tied players receive a trophy.
ENTRY FEE: Scholastic $40 if registered by noon on October 14th; $20 more afterwards. Limited to the total of 160 participants, please register early.
