Grandmaster Yaroslav Zherebukh Simultaneous Exhibition
3 p.m., Saturday, December 14
UIC Student Center East, Room 605
750 S. Halsted, Chicago
The Chicago Chess Center is delighted to welcome Grandmaster Yaroslav Zherebukh to Chicago. If Luke McShane is the world's strongest amateur player, Yaro has a strong argument for the #2 spot. At the age of 18, he eliminated two top-ten players, Eljanov and Mamedyarov, from the 2011 World Cup. In his first US Championship, Yaro beat Fabiano Caruana, world #2 and Magnus Carlsen's most recent challenger
We are doubly delighted that Yaro is donating a forty-board simultaneous exhibition to CCC! We are reserving many spots for Chicago scholastic players and UIC students, and "selling" a few spots to help underwrite our nonprofit mission.
By popular demand :-) participation in the simul is free of charge!
